PC Download Sims 3

So, to save money($10) on Amazon I'm gonna be getting the PC Download for the Sims 3 Deluxe, I was wondering if there was any cons to this? If something happens and I need to reinstall my Operating System, what will happen to my download?

The only real con to it is you don't have a physical copy of it. Which to some isn't a con at all.
If your computer gets nuked for whatever reason, or if you just want to install it on another PC, (After you've logged into Amazon) at the top, next to 'Your Account' You'll see a link called 'Your Digital Items', click that, then click on 'Your Games and Software Library'. And from there you can re-download the installation files, if needed. And the key for it will also be listed there.
