Music makes me horny, therefore it makes me want to masturbate, thus I release my tension through music.

Music has made my life a brighter place and allowed me to survive my junior year.

Music lets me switch off from reality, which is what I want to do most of the time. It's also one of the only things that can make me feel an intense amount of one emotion (bar something extreme, like a loved one dying or a traumatic experience or something).

More than I could list in one single post.
It used to be my only release, listening to music is what I did when I was upset.
I play guitar and sing, which are two of the things that I can use to distract me from almost anything.
I play in a band and through that i've met some of my best friends, who I never want to lose.
So yeah basically music has given me everything I have.

Music has saved my life.
I grew up in a very musical family. My grandfather used to be in a band and my dad sang all the time (even when I threw my toys at him when he opened his mouth as a toddler). I took piano lessons because my parents thought it was important to learn an instrument. Since then, I've learned to play nine others and I go to a performing arts school for vocal music.
I don't know, even when I'm in the darkest place, the only thing I like about myself is my voice and it's sort of kept me minimally sane. That was the biggest part of my hospitalization: a nurse played guitar and whenever I'd start crying or even just guitar, he'd start trying to get me to sing along to cheer me up.

I'll be cliché and say that music gives me a religion and a spiritual side of me that I've never possessed. Anyone who has ever seen me at my piano would understand that. I'm no less concentrated and into it than someone praying to their God(s). Art as a whole is a religion. I believe it's spiritual, in a way.
That being said, music gives me the job that I want. Well, I want to go into musical theatre that is. I've thought of being a musician as well. Professionally, I mean.
I hate the whole music is life, music is my everything. It's a bit dramatic. But in all honestly, it is for me. I like "Music is my religion" more though. CDs themselves are just like the incense I burn. I'm always listening to something. Whether I'm studying it, and yes, I do study it, or just listening to it to have something in the background while I'm doing something else. I like to really listen to a worthwhile CD. Figure out my own message from each song, come up with my own back story for it, listen to every instrument, every layer of sound that goes into a track. Where the baseline is going, what the synthesizer is doing. Every little component. I love music that allows me to discover a different element I didn't notice before, like a track of synth that I didn't notice before, or the notes that the violin is playing, what each instrument is bringing to the song.

Music has offered me a release from reality. I listen to music constanyly, I play guitar, bass and sing. I'd rather listen to my least favorite song then listen to nothing at all. I love writing and performing music.
I love the band I've started and can't wait to start gigging with them
