My favourite band by far is The Middle East, who're from Australia. I think their 2008 album 'Recordings Of The Middle East' (the one with eight tracks, not five) is a really essential listen for anybody. It's just such a beautiful album, especially the three tracks that didn't make it into Spunk records' re-release.

So I really recommend that album. Their 2011 album wasn't as good, but I know the excuses.


I also love Gregor Samsa. Ever since deadpie posted Young And Old (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtiNjvB_VMU) in some epic music thread, I've been in love. Basically, they play really relaxing post-rock. Their EP 27:36 is really, really good and is essential Gregor Samsa. 55:12 is home to great songs like Makeshift Shelters, Young & Old, Even Numbers, and Lessening. Rest, I think, is their most recent album, and has no songs that progress into climaxes, however I recommend the songs Ain Leuh, Abutting Dismantling, and First Mile, Last Mile.

Apart from those two, there are no artists that I'm actively in love with. I'd still recommend Noah & The Whale's First Days Of Spring (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szbB-vLVnoQ) as their only great song. Also, a kind of guilty pleasure song for me (because the band is very shit otherwise), is Mumford & Sons' Dust Bowl Dance (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaxrANJnU2E). Let the haters hate. But yeah, if you want I can give you loads of more artists that I listen to.

Lucky-Radiohead. Such a beautiful song. Great build-up, emotional impact...it deals with the beauty and troubles of a relationship...and within the context of the album, it means so much more.
