With summer just around the corner, I've been to the pool with my friend and I noticed he has some bacne (acne that forms on your back). It's nothing extremely serious, but he told me that it still makes him self conscious. He says he uses a Neutrogena Body Wash but still wishes it would clear up faster.
So... I thought I'd come here and try to find out some answers for him. Maybe others have it or have had it. What do you suggest? Does it usually go away after puberty?
Thanks

Acne normally goes away after puberty but for it being on your back the most you can do is to consult with a dermatologist or wash your back better than what you are doing.

I think it's apart of puberty because I've seen a few guys with it. Like Jmann I was on Accutane and it completely rid me of bacne but I had a severe case so I think your friend would be put on it. Ask a dermatologist and maybe they can prescribe a treatment.

My best friend has "bacne"... well he had it, now he just has a hell lot of scars on his back from it. not to alert you or your friend, but if the treatment is wrong you might end up with some really mean scars like my friend :/

Well over time, but at the age of 17, in the summer time, it's not fun to go the beach with scars on your back, scars from bacne from 2 years back

If you're friend can't afford to see a dermatologist, consider offering him the following alternatives:
- Over the counter washes that contain benzyl peroxide and/or some form of acid (look at ingredient list)
- Try the Neutragina grapefruit wash, it works really well.
- Tell him to drink/eat lemons They're naturally good for the skin!
- Tell him to eat grapefruits! They're also good for the skin!

I used to get it quite bad but now I hardly get any new ones and I mostly have just scars..
I found the best things to do is to scrub it with a hard brush a few times a week, and that gets rid of all the dead skin cells. If you want to get rid of it faster, you could go and see a doctor and they might give you duac or some other cream. Best of luck (:
