Lithium Effects?

I read in a book that lithium (a medicine prescribed to most bi polar people) has the side affects of weight gain diarhea and some other things. Is this true? or could you post all of the effects that are true? Thanks

Thats lithium-ion and yes alot of medication causes DIARHEA among other.

Yes that's true. If prescribed with lithium you also have to have regular blood tests because it can ruin your liver or kidneys (I forget which)

Probably liver if you need blood tests..
I've never heared of that drug.. Only that its a battery that you put in watches and MP3 players. Oh and its a song by Nirvana :P

yes lithium increases your appetite making you gain weight.

i was on mirtzapine (remeron) and it made me gain weight like maaaaaad.

i used to be on lithium, didn't notice any side effects though
