okay so i have been seeing my girlfriend for over a year now, we are quite sexually involved with one another and have been for some time now.

she is on the pill, and has been the entire time we have been having sex. recently she got some food poisoning or something similar, which made the pill in-effective for a short amount of time.

within that period we had sex a small number of times. even though she is on the pill, we still use a condom. The condom does occasionally break, in which i always take my penis out strait away without continuing before i apply a new one.

just to skip to the point, my girlfriend is now 4 days late of her period. this isn't a odd thing for her, but this is the first time that i've been stressed about it.

has any one been in this situation before? or can anyone give me some medical advice?

Hmm..the best thing to do would be to go to a health clinic or doctor and get a pregnancy test.

so do you think that 4 days late is too much for comfort?

Well I dont really know much about menstraightion (spelling?) but too be safe I'd go get her checked out as soon as possible.

Out of curiosity, how old are you and your girl-friend?

I would say four days late is a sign that you should get a pregnancy test. While you were being very safe, there is a chance for pregnancy. Just go ahead and buy one so that you can stop stressing out about it and know what is going on.

Pregnancy tests are recommended to be used AT LEAST a week after a missed period, but preferably 2 weeks.
Wait a while longer,
I thought I was pregnant once after a week.
Bought the expensive test,
and started the next day.

The best thing to do is relax
and wait a little longer.
After all, the test won't be accurate right now anyways.

Talk with a Gyno doctor if you think it has to do with Pragnancy, if not just wait, but if she still does not get her period, talk to Gyno doctor

It is not abnormal for girls to be a few days late. Just relax about it. If she doesn't start in a week then you should think about pregnancy tests. But untill then you don't have much to worry about. It really isn't that bad or abnormal for a girl to be late.
