View Full Version : Intel integrated graphics cards -_-

My god. I'm a bit pissed, that just because my laptop came with this shitty graphics card which can run EVERY SINGLE OTHER GAME I've ever tried, from Minecraft to Modern Warfare 2 with very little issues, that I end up buying a game that does not use DirectX and instead OpenGL, and I just wasted money on a game that will not work on my Intel HD Graphics card. As I said as well, I have a laptop. I would be more than fine with getting a different graphics card that supported OpenGL, but I can't exactly, can I? And I'm in no financial situation right now to get a nice desktop or at least a laptop with a more gaming-friendly graphics card, just so I can get my money's worth out of a single game that uses OpenGL.
The game in question has been out for a year, multiple complaints over it, but neither the game developers nor Intel seem to want to do anything about it, none of the driver updates do a thing with the problem of course. So the developers just keep leeching money from Intel graphics card users without having to do anything for the extra money.

Um, what game seems to be causing such a justified rant?

A game that clearly states it wont work on certain Intel GPUs
Its your responsibilty to check whether the game will run on your system or not.
Unfortunatly unless you purchase a new system with a dedicated graphics card then you wont be able to play it

@ Syvelocin,
shitty graphics card which can run EVERY SINGLE OTHER GAME I've ever tried, from Minecraft to Modern Warfare 2 with very little issues,
In lowest settings probably (MW2) ? ;-S
Tried Crysis, ArmA II, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Clear Sky or other power-hungry games ? :P
I have Asus K42F notebook, which has 2.4GHZ Corei3-370M, 2GB RAM and Intel GMA HD, which can't run MW2 in acceptable framerate and in acceptable resolution (1024x768), even in lowest details. "=.=

Nope. Every GPU of this generation has both DirectX + OpenGL. Even my 1999's Nvidia Riva TNT2 32MB had OpenGL. :P
Amnesia isn't compatible with u'r Lappy (due to GPU, mainly). ;-( U can try other OpenGL games, if u don't believe it. GOG and Steam sells PC games in a very cheap rate. :)

Well... yah. Many other games got the same issue. ;-(

Ok, so... does MW2 requirements says that it'll run in Laptop's Intel GPU's ? :P

Considering that not many, if any intel integrated GPUs support OpenGL 1.x Amnesia will not work.
MW2 is a DirectX9 game which most Intel GPUs support.

MW2, I had zero issues with (I actually have more lag issues with Minecraft than I did when I played MW2)

Yeah, umm, I see it says that on Steam and such, but it's a physical copy, and the back of my copy says nothing about that. But I do now that is the case now.

Minecraft is a poorly coded Javascript file hence why it plays like shit. Its a great game just poorly made lol
They are working on a DX fix around for it i think.
