Hi, I am 19 and I wanna build some more muscle. I'm pretty skinny and I don't have a six pack, skinny arms and very small chest muscle. For the past few weeks I have been doing exercices almost everyday (crunches, lifting weights...) but nothing's changed. Does anyone know the reason?

You need to go at this a little more than just a few weeks. Keep it up bub.

Building muscle takes a lot of time, believe me. I'm 18 and just started working out big time about 3 months ago. I drink Golden Whey right after working out, its a protein drink that helps aide in the building of muscle. Just go to the gym and focus on one section each day, most people do it all but that could leave you sore to work out the next day. I will usually do upper body one day, lower another, etc... You won't gain any muscle unless you feel a burn when working out, that is your muscle tearing. Keep working out, you will see it in a month.

I had the same problem ok when i was 12 but thats b/c I was getting bullied diffrent story
what you need to do is isolate your muscles
do 2 sets of 12 reps for each section of your body
12 REPS! ask people around you they surprisingly love to help give tips to anyone probably because they were also in that same situation at one point
anyway 2 sets 12 reps isolate your muscles
BUT FIRST TO GET ANY MUSCLE IN YOUR UPPER BODY (not abs)
YOU NEED TO STRENGTHEN YOUR SHOULDERS!!!
Most important muscle in your upper body!
Here are a few pics to show you some excersizes to do for your shoulders
THESE ARE A MUST
any weight will do find something you think might be too light (wont seem like it after 12) DO 12 then go up a level in weight and max out your reps with your second set

Do these at all angles it all helps

IF YOU DONT WORK YOUR SHOULDERS THE REST OF YOUR UPPER BODY WONT GET ANY STRONGER
after your workouts eat a stick of beef jerky it has lots of protein and you dont have to pay $6 for a protein shake that tastes horrible

actually building muscle inst hard people just make it seem complicated for you arms (if you can do push ups) do your max plus 2 more everyday and only est for on Sunday if u cant handle that then rest on Wednesdays too and for you abs this is the best workout (i recommend) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fk_usVg7Fp0

Make sure you lift until you feel a burn, Muscles grow when you stress them by lifting weights because you get tiny tears in the muscle which new layers of muscle grow over therefore bigger muscles:). Gaining muscle takes time though, what exercises are you doing?

Yeah, everywhere I see that I have to wait until I feel a burn. But what exactly should I feel then?

Some of it is genetics, too, and also if you're taller and you're arms are longer it's harder to develop biger arms. If you're trying to build size do fewer reps (5-7) with heavier weights and just stick to it.

Use this website, its really good. Even if you decide you dont want to do the teenager workouts, it has a lot of advice that could help you out. Read some articles about protein, often it is a bad diet that means you suffer in the 'gains' you get.

I strongly suggest you use muscle confusion. This is far better. Our bodies adapt to our workouts, so confuse the body. It works great for me and my Dad. I/M me if you want to talk about this further.

you need to go to the gym and do ab exercises, drink water and cardio just about everyday.

Several things you must have it count:

-age
-genetics
-exercises
-food

1. you are 19, if you have never exercised before it will be very difficult

2. if your family has a pass of skinny people, you are very unlucky

3. You can try the UK army web site, there you will find several complete training programs

4. make sure you eat many carbon hydrates, pasta, rice, beans, potatoes is not much advised, and drink lots of water before and after exercise. (70% of our body is water)
