Hey. I'm not sure if this has ever been posted before as I'm new and cba scrolling through pages of threads to find out or not.

Anyway! If you haven't heard of the it gets better project, Basically it's been set up to give kids around the world reassurance that eventually things will get better, the way it works is people post videos speaking from experience showing how once in High school or what ever they were in the exact same position as you, its okay to be who you are and helps show that things do eventually get better..

http://www.itgetsbetter.org/
is the link to the website I strongly suggest you check it out if you're struggling with LGBT bullying of any kind.

- One video that really stands out for me is a video by Ryan James Yezak.
It's so inspirational and really helped me through my ordeals so I really advise you to watch this video, it should have so much more views so I'm trying to promote it abit, show your friends too.

Enjoy.

I had heard about this before, bits and pieces. It feels strange, the sense of community and strength that can be gained from some very simple words spoken by many that don't even know each other. I've already posted this to facebook and pretty much everyone there now thinks I'm gay... meh. I can deny it... I hope that next year when I'm in Sixth Form this project is still going because then I will have the confidence to make a video and try to help others.

Hey that is a good video and he is pretty inspiring, I’m glad that the Trevor Project exists.

But I’m just not so sure sometimes, that it dose enough to help RIGHT NOW,
Why does life suddenly get better after High School, like someone well just wave a magic and wand and it will all be OK? I just don’t buy it sometimes.

BUT I’M very glad that is has, and is helping you !!!

Very inspirational video.
As for what tyler said, I kind of felt the same but when you think about it, after high school you become an adult and a whole new world is opened up to you in a sense. I guess it "gets better" because there is a shift in peoples priorities, and the high school drama probably gets left in the dust. I thought it was cool to see how many people had pledged.

Hey =]
Thanks for the comments, I suppose it gets better for most people after high school because its kinda the end of an era, and a chance to start pretty much fresh. I found that once you're in college everyone is so much more mature and not everyone acts like dicks.

also I suppose it doesn't always get better after high school, but at some point things will just change and yeaah! I'm not really sure the projects ment to like actually instantly help you but for some I suppose it does, tons of people are contemplating suicide for the amount of hatred they have to ensure on a daily basis, I suppose the video just shows that if you can get through the hard bit, things will be amazing for you and 'a whole new world will open up'
anyway, aha thanks :P
