Installing a game using different CDs

I know, the title doesn't explain much. Here is what happened:

There are 3 CDs for Age of Empires 3. I have all, but the first CD doesn't work. A friend of mine gave me his CD #1 and I tried to use it. When it asked for CD Key, I wrote my cd key but it wouldn't work because each CD has it's own CD-Key


Is there anyway to overcome this? Like bypassing this "1 CD 1 CD-Key" system and being able to use my own cd key but my friend's cd at the same time?

an installation key for a PC game will work with any disc

or so im aware of.

never had any problems downloading a .iso file if ive ever lost a disc then using the same key

Use patches and cracks, best thing for those kind of problems.

Dunno man, I want to play online that's why I am doing all these stuff, I can also download the torrent of the game.
But I mean maybe there is a document in the game CD where the CD-Key is written and by changing that you can also change the CD-Key that you should write in installation...

you cant bypass this because they do it so that u buy the game and stop users from using it more than once this is call DRM (digital rights management), you could ring the maker of the game and ask them if they could send you a replacement CD or see if they offer any better advice

Dude I bought the game like 4 years ago and I broke the CD myself
