I've noticed some purple lines growing on my stomach from my navel, as well as around the armpit area, and I know that these are stretch marks forming, but I'm mainly wondering what's causing them. I'm a little pudgy, but not obese (nor even very fat), and I've had a(t least) 5-inch growth spurt in the last year.
Is this due to the growth spurt? Weight? Will they go away?
14 Y.O., by the way.

you get them from growing faster than the skin can keep up, they will fade a little bit but not fully go away on there own. get some bio oil to help heal them.

Yeah man I'm at least as tall as a lot of the 16-17 year olds that I know, but these are some pretty prominent purple lines that I don't want to be there forever :\

Are you sure they're even stretch marks? Stretch marks usually occur if you were growing outward faster than your skin could grow, like if you were pregnant. They could just be veins.
If they really were caused by you growing taller, they would if anything be going horizontally instead of vertically. Think about it, when you're pregnant, you grow outward so the skin gets pulled outward. If you're growing upward, your skin wouldn't even be stretching that way..

If you're worried, get some Bio Oil, it helps with the marks (and with cars if you have any)! :)

I have strechmarks on my thighs. They don't seem to go away. Just recently noticed them. Fortunately not so open place for everyone to see.

could be from being overweight.

I have them and I'm overweight. I don't think they'll go away even if I lose weight.

if you're overweight, most likely they won't. but you can use oil or lotion to help make them less noticeable.
