i dont know if this is in the right place but anyway....
so...things have been really bad, but im in councilling twice a week and im on medication, but for some reason im trying something new...god. im hoping that by "finding" god if thats the right term to use it will somehow make me better and i can improve my life a bit.
i guess im wondering if anyone else has done this and if so, are you willing to share your experiences cause that would be a great help, also if anyone has any suggestions or tips that could be useful they would be massively appriciated. thank you! :) x

I'm pretty much doing the same at the moment. I'm not sure what I beleive yet, but i'm definatly researching and trying to understand God a bit more, and i'm being slowly convinced, and honestly I do feel a little safer now i'm being convinced, it's weird.
I was talking to my mum the other night. She's Christian. She suffered with depression when I was younger and she was on anti depressants. They tried taking her off them and she couldn't cope. The second time they did this she still couldn't cope. She was crying every night and my dad told her she had to go back to the doctors. That sunday she was in church and she felt something come over her, and she felt better. She had to go out the church, I actually remember her doing this vaguely, although at the time I of course had no idea. She never went back to the doctors and she's never fallen back into depression since. She bascially turned everything around in that moment, or as she believes, God did.
I don't know if I believe that, but I know my mum wouldn't lie. What she felt must have been real, whether the cause of it was God or not, and it just seems such a miraculous recovery for it to be chance.
My mum only told me that story last night for the first time, and I thought i'd share it with you :)

I, for one, can safely say that if I didn't have God with me through the worst of times, I would've been dead a long time ago. People can only experience God for themselves, nobody can hand faith to them on a plate.
What God can offer you is far more powerful than any what human could possibly ever give you, so if it's there, just keep on believing. :)

Personally, I don't believe in God. I know a lot of people that do, and I remember when my step-mum's mum died, she took it pretty hard. She would pray a lot, and she said that's what got her through it.
If it works for you, and believing on God helps you, keep on believing. I can't empathise, I've tried to believe in God, I've been to church and everything, but it just doesn't work for me. But if it works for you, and God does help you, then keep it up. :)
