My parents, they are seriously way too protective. They have some sort of problem of me using a train with my friends. The last time I went out was last summer. I work every Saturday which I have no problem with. They get worried I'm not home by 7pm. I have never gone out with my friends past 9pm without adults. All I want to do is have some freedom. The only time I go out is with my older brother and his friends which is cool, but it's not my friends. I mean they have parties and stuff with alcohol, but I don't want to drink, I have no ambition to, so I won't drink or take any drugs. I just want some freedom.

Is that for your files, Doc?
Same story, same response. Talk to your parents, be honest about how you feel - come to an arrangement. Didn't work with your best persuasion tactics? Tough luck.

Christ Jon, you haven't changed at all... Still as blunt as ever.
He's right though, the only way you're going to get more freedom from your parents is by actually talking to them. They might not realise that they're being so protective unless you mention it, I know if it was my parents they would want me to have the freedom that I wanted as long as it didn't put me in danger. Give it a try and see what happens.

i agree with everyone else i did i said to my mum and dad i want you to knock first before entering my room and i explain that my door is going to be closed, i also explained that now im older i want to go out with friends and stay out a bit longer you could say ill phone you every 2 hours or something like that, the best thing to do is start it off by sleeping round a friends house and get ur friends parents to talk with your parents to reassure them that you will be safe.
