hi. ill try to keep this short because im in bit of a hurry but ill return to this thread later.

for my entire life ive had anger management issues but i never really cared about the problem despite it getting me into trouble with the police over two assault charges and being kicked out of school due to too many fights but more recently (the past year) ive found it increasingly difficult to manage my anger because its leading to more psychical confrontation and im worried it'll land me in alot of trouble one day so im wondering if anyone has any advise on how to deal with this.

thank you.

As much as people normally don't like to seek help, it is fantastic that you are wanting to take steps to overcome this!

I would do a search on google and see what you find on anger management. There are a lot of self-help pages out there. I would definitely focus on the ones surrounding mindfulness if you can. Mindfulness training helps you to recognise why you get angry and the signs ('triggers') that you are becoming angry and may become violent. Knowing these triggers helps you to then consciously think of them before you become violent and use other strategies to manage your anger, such as breathing or getting yourself out of the situation.

also, looking into professional help can be useful for some. Most areas run anger management groups or most psychologists and social workers offer private sessions and would be willing to help with some anger management techniques.
