So, as I mentioned in a previous thread, I was taking citalopram and I eventually ended up coming off it after only a short time due to side effects that just became too much to handle.

My doctor switched me to sertraline this morning. Far too soon to tell if I'm better off yet but that's not my issue.

I'm having one of the same side-effects I got with the citalopram which is drowsiness. I'm wondering, if I wait this out, stay on it for a few weeks, will these side-effects get any better or will they continue for as long as I take them?

Cheers, guys.

Well, since the side-effect you are experiencing is drowsiness, I'd definitely continue taking it for a couple weeks and see if it does die down. That happens a lot with me. For instance, I was on Remeron for my insomnia, which is an anti-depressant, but after a week or so it stopped getting me to sleep so I've just recently switched to something else. If it doesn't change at all, you might want to switch drugs or instead take it at night.

Thanks, Rith. I'll ride it out, see if it gets any better. I'm already perking up a little actually, in terms of energy at least, which used to happen in the evenings with the citalopram. Just hope it stays this way. :)
