I have an ingrown toenail. I get them all the time and has part of the nail removed but it's back. I've been putting a piece of gauze under to lift the nail up but a part underneath broke so now I'm worried. I've put neosporin on it and it's bandaged. First thing in the morning, I'm soaking it with Epsom salts.

Any ideas until my doctor's appointment on Wednesday? I'm so scared that I keep crying and the pain is too much. I got part of the nail removed even after the local anesthetic didn't work but this is making me want to start screaming bloody murder. My whole toe hurts, sometimes part of my foot.

Help.

Sorry to hear about what your going through. I would just recommend taking pain relief, and resting the foot if possible. Theres not alot you can do without a doctor. If gets too bad try and ask if they have a closer appointment available. Just do the best you can, not a whole lot you can do. Sorry :(

Im afraid the only thing you can do is wait to go to the doctors.. Dont apply too much pressure to it, And take pain relief tablets.. Try and get an earlier appointment if possible as you sound like your in alot of pain.

Keep doing what your doing. Definitely do the epsom salts, it'll help with the pain. There's not much else to do other than what you're doing. Maybe some pain killers? You just have to hold out till Wednesday if you're keen on having the doctor do it. I've always just done the gauze, soaked it, then when the nail is softer and it's not hurting as much, I take a pair of clippers and attempt to cut away that bit of the nail. With how the nail is broken as you said, I might leave it alone if it hurts that much. Don't be wearing any close-toed shoes that press down and just hang in there until your appointment.

I had a few, but I was always able to remove them myself.Though it's not suggest doing that, due to risk of worsening it, or infecting it.

Ask the doctor to burn the root with some acid that does the trick to stop em from coming back. Also I have had ingrown toenail removed before.

Update on what my doctor said... it's looking better and hurts much less so she wants me to leave it and hope it goes away. After that, I may have to be put on a six to nine month waiting list for surgery on my foot again. Blah. I'm only going to do it though if I get another (this was maybe my tenth in six years).
