Sorry if this was posted before..
I've been noticing a growing trend of people wearing underwear (mainly boxers, if that matters) under their swimsuits.
I am wondering why people wear underwear under their bathing suit. I mean, it's just another article of clothing (the underwear, along with the bathing suit) that needs washing, and, in my opinion, just looks silly.
Could someone explain why people do this?

i have no idea why someone would want to wear undies underneath swimmers. i didnt even know they did. none of my friends do.
it seems weird to me......whats the point?

i used to because i wore board shorts and you can look up them and see your junck but not anymore because if you are looking up my shorts that must mean you really want to see so i dont care if you look and maybe they will show a lil something too

Well, basically, for guys, the netting is becoming annoying. Many of my friends, and probably others, cut the netting out and just wear boxers under. It's a lot more comfortable.

I don't really like it, but since I have a pair of shorts that don't have netting I feel the need to wear boxers so my junk, as someone up there called it, isn't noticeable. That's the reason I prefer shorts with netting...

Generally for support and the like; also, protection against chafing >_<

If you're wearing loose boardies and are splashing around/body surfing/diving, they have a tendency to slip; and we wouldn't want everyone else to feel inadequate, eh?

Most of my friends do it so that they can wear their boardshorts so that it goes past thier knees. looks better i guess
