For those who don't know, this is a continuation to this poem: Even Paper Flowers Will Wilt Away (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=58308&highlight=Flowers)
If you can, try not to wake me
When you come in late again tonight,
And I won't question your dishonesties-
'Cause behind closed eyelids I delight.
In a land of slumber I venture off,
Back to the paper gardens of yesterday
Where my heart knew solace
And our love was forever to stay.
Back to those gardens which I set fire,
And watched as butterflies fled,
As bliss ascended from me on delicate wings,
As myself I soon misled.
Ashes were all that remained of roses,
Ashes were all that remained of my heart,
As I thought butterflies had forsaken me,
Unable to see I was tearing myself apart.
So please come in quietly tonight,
And let me relive her love, her gentle touch.
For I would trade it all away this time,
To reclaim the one I loved all too much.
NOTE: This is not edited. It's a jumbled mess of thoughts I wrote off the top of my head, sorry it sucks. (:
