I've tried using lube before for wanking a few times, but I didn't like it. But if you *do* want to try it, is suggest trying it right before you get a shower. Cleaning up is much easier if you just hop into the shower. :)

depends if you are circumcised or not. If you are, you should use lube or something so you don't get raw skin burn on it. If you are not circumcised you may not need any.

use hand lotion. Not too much. And it's not messy, after a while it dries into the skin. You might have to use more. It's what I use.

Using lube with uncircumcised penis doesn't give any advantage. But with circumcised penis lube makes it feel much more intense.
