Everyone knows that with coming out of the closet, you either get popularity or.... wait, you do get popularity, whether it is from allies or haters, you are still getting some kind of recognition and being more noticeable by other people. But then there comes consequences. Your haters will hate on you too much and the allies will only see you as one thing. I'm technically in that situation. People acting like gays when they are straight, and my allies seeing me as that gay kid who doesn't take shit from anybody.

What they don't know, really, is that I am beyond more than that. I'm not just a 14 year old out homosexual. I'm an out 14 year old homosexual whom loves to go bowling, cook, sing, inspire others, be humorous, be affectionate, and everything in between.

It depresses me because every time I'm on Facebook and I like one of those things where the person has to post a truth about you or something they like about you, all they every post is that I'm either "cool", or something along the lines of, "your brave and don't give a fuck what clueless bitches think about you. You take criticism really well."

That's all they ever see in me is just those three or so things. I find it quite a conservative thing of them to do because, mainly, they don't have anything better to say. Sometimes I wish they would figure out something different to say instead of just saying the same thing over and over again.

Hey, I know exactly how that feels.
Sometimes I wish people would look at ME for who I am, not for the girl I've got on my arm.
I just want to be treated like a normal person. NO one says "Oh, it's that straight kid." I don't want to be recognized as "that lesbian girl"
Best of luck to you, and I hope you can get people to understand this. x Take care

I know it's tough. I'm bi and there's only 3 people in my whole school that wouldn't make fun of me, only because their best friend is bi. I've hidden it for a while, though. And I feel the same way about people talking about me, they ONLY call me the computer genius, and they can't think of ANYTHING else good about me. If you ever need to chat I'll be here.

But I don't get why they can't be nicer to you. So what if you're gay? You seem like the kind of guy I would want to hang out with.

I have exactly the same problem. Really try not to get upset by it.. I know you want to be known as you and not "the gay kid" but i guess its peoples way of accepting it and learning to be tolerant of it. Just change the topic and dont talk about it if people ask you too much.. But everyone is going to be curious. Once they know everything they will all get bored because they know everything. Chin up :)
