View Full Version : Who thinks Lady GaGa could do better?

I love Lady GaGa ,and I like some of her pop stuff, but listening to her songs like Speechless or Bad Romance *when she played at Ellen's show, the begging part* says to me she could do way better then trying to please some Holly Wood parasites and outcast kids, btw I'm outcast type, just don't think you should be so pity full to them :P.I mean she can sing so well and play the piano, why doesn't she more stuff with it?I mean I <3 Bad Romance, Paparazzi,Telephone and all that jazz*and her The Fame album*,but she could do a lot petter then some fair weather pop fans!lol.I don't mind her weird aspects ,in fact I love them, but why can't some of her songs be more like Speechless?
Her awesome live performance right behind Paparazzi at the VMA's.

Like I always say, it's not that she doesn't have the talent. She can sing. Her songs are just terrible. There's barely anything to the lyrics, and it's all over-produced modern pop (though I don't like most pop anyway, modern pop is horrible).
I, embarrassingly, find The Fame Monster to be a bit of a guilty pleasure. I honestly enjoyed a bit of that. I found The Fame and the singles so far to be horrible. But I agree with you partly. I think she has the talent to do something a bit better than what she has, but she's not using it.
Evidence A (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGrH-NLHCEc&feature=related). I can hardly believe that this is the same artist who sang LoveGame. :\
Evidence B (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7HvURBhMGE).

yeah thats how I feel.I myself am bi or some form of bi xD and I kinda liked Born This Way but now I see it as way to draw in GLBT people into her crowd,I love alot of her shit, which I know i shouldn't lol,but I just love her real stuff, especially Speechless. The live version lol,the "pop" one isn't too bad, well it's more pop rock lolz.

I'm with Rith on this one. She definitely has the talent to be better, but she's deciding not to use it. Now if someone from 'Rolling Stone' thinks otherwise doesn't matter. I have no bar set for Lady Gaga at all because I put no high standard on any artist. Part of her first album are just awful to me. Some of the singles are good, but not to the greatness that people put them out to be.
That being said, The Fame Monster probably should have been her first album. For one, it's shorter and more listenable. I mean, really, who's going to sit through a full hour listening to just one album? There's many exceptions when it comes to longer than usual albums and The Fame is not one of those exceptions. The Fame Monster, on the other hand, is at a good and decent length. Second, it has more enjoyable songs than its predecessor. The first five songs just work together, which is surprising for a pop album. After that, it's really so-so for me.
From what's already been released from the upcoming album, I'm not that hopeful of it. The title track impressed me greatly. But then 'Judas' came out and I literally lost a lot of my hope regarding anything about the album. Not to mention that the album cover alone just draws me away. It looks like a cheap five minute Photoshop job. The cover for the deluxe edition should have been the cover for the standard edition too. Compared to the artwork of her other releases, it just disappoints me that she would just do that. Perhaps the entire rise in popularity she's gotten in the last three years is slowly eating her brain out.
Also, my face when another Gaga thread

I think if she wants Judas to fuck her there's no way she'll ever become a "Christian role model". Plus the fact that she's a big helping figure in the LGBT community.
Also who cares?

Christian role model? Are you joking or trolling? Not everyone has to live to your moral standard.

Well, everybody has a different definition of what a "Christian role model" is.
Besides, it's not like everyone who uses the label 'Christian' is actually as 'devoted' to their religion as you seem to be.

Your point? Just because she claims herself as a Christian doesn't mean she needs to be a role model for the religion. I know plenty of "Christians" who aren't even that devoted to their beliefs, but do people complain about them? Sure, they crawl out of the woodwork for Christmas and Easter, but I hear no complaints from anyone about it. So what makes Lady Gaga any different from the people who claim to be Christian and don't even really practice the religion?

^ She does practice her religion. She prays before she performs...

Yet this is the only example I see of her as a practicing Christian. Does she attend Mass? Does she go to confession once a month? What about communion, does she receive it frequently? Look, until she starts actually becoming a practicing Christian, then you can't call her out for not being a Christian role model.

Yeah, while I kinda like what she's doing, I really miss the old GaGa. The one before and during The Fame era. Whatever, she's becoming a product. That happens to every pop artist eventually... unless you're David Bowie.

Bowie turned into a product too, it just wasn't as obvious as Gaga.

What actor or singer doesn't turn into a product, minus the ones who keep their fans in mind.

If they keep their fans in mind, they wouldn't be turning into a product in the first place.

Maybe if she wasn't such a boring pop star and used her voice to its full potential, then maybe I'd give a listen here and there.

"Who cares" or "who gives a fuck" is usually a rhetorical question saying that no one should care as much as they do.
If she can do better and she chooses not to, then she shouldn't even be given respect or attention as an artist. And if she can't do better...well then she just sucks and shouldn't be a big deal to people anyway. Either way, people shouldn't care as much.

"Horrid" is a massive understatement. I don't think I made it all the way through the album on first listen. The first two songs were good, but after that, it was a a steady decline.

It sounded like some bad classic rock or hair metal band with a tiny bit of Madonna in there, but heavy on the modern Britney. AKA, in my book, that's not a good description.
It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. There were one or two songs that kept her same Fame Monster sound, which I found more enjoyable. But then she switched right back to the sound of tracks like "The Edge of Glory" and "Hair." I can't believe I'm saying this, as I'm a synthpop fan, but it sounds almost as if the synth was used a little too much, or rather, just constantly in the same way every song, which bored me to no end. Strangely, the rest of the album made me enjoy Judas more than I did before, because I think that's one of the strongest songs on the album.

The first two albums have some appeal outside of the club setting it was originally intended for. But "Born This Way"...I'd much rather have this stick to the gay clubs of Gaga's choosing.
