Yeah, I do like a bit of ol' Marilyn. It's a crying shame though, he's really gone down hill since Holy Wood. And then there was the famous "coat or no coat" incident at Download 2009.

I'd like to hear him release another great record but it seems that he's running out of stuff to say. :(

Faris. That might be an appropriate response to MCR or something, but in all honestly, his lyrics really are that fucking deep. Most people don't know this, but he had a storyline going that spanned three albums, Antichrist Superstar, Mechanical Animals, and Holy Wood, and if you research it and really take the time to sit down with his lyrics, you'd find that their early-middle albums were pieces of work. It's a long story, I'm not going to detail it here, but I did some in-depth research into it. You can find the general story on Wikipedia, or around the Internet, I can't remember the site I originally used. Some of the newer songs... not so much, but there were a couple good tunes on HEOL. Now, they are quite overrated by the rabid fans, but incredibly underrated in general.

I used to hate them, honestly, when I was much younger. I thought he was creepy and sick. I'm a Nightmare Before Christmas fan though, and I became obsessed with their cover of This Is Halloween. It started from there, and I kept trying to get into their music, but I just couldn't. I found my dad's copy of The Queen of the Damned Soundtrack though. Awful film. But they did the song Redeemer (technically, it's Korn's, but there was something about them not being able to have their version on the soundtrack so MM did it) which is just an awesome song. From there, I got into a mix of their songs, until I finally tried really listening to them again, and they really grew on me. I don't listen to too much "good" music, but Marilyn Manson, has to be the closest to good music I listen to. I'm not big on hard rock/metal, but they have a sound to them that I haven't been able to deny. As well, Marilyn Manson is a big influence on me. You see interviews with him, and he sounds like such a down-to-earth, extremely intelligent guy, with a lot of valid opinions and interesting ways of looking at the world. Quite seriously, I don't think I've ever seen someone like him, that intelligent. No offence, those of you who are of that sort of subculture. But everything I used to think about him, I think the opposite. He's not all that weird, and he hasn't done about 80% of the stuff the rumours say he has.

I think he's just changed, as a normal person does. Back then, he was "Guns, God, Government," now he's focused more on other things. But one thing stays the same, it was and still is autobiographical. The focus is just off what is wrong with society, but now, what is wrong in his own life. He's also my mum's age, after all. He's getting older (I just realized that sounds like I'm calling my mum old o.O) I don't complain, though. The newer stuff might not be as good, but it's not the worst music out there. It's still Marilyn Manson, and I'll continue to be an open-ear until they call it quits.

And thank goodness he's finally dumped Evan Rachel Wood again. For what, the tenth time? My god.
