So far, I think all songs sucked. Now France is singing and it sucks too.
Songs in Eurovision gets worse by year I guess

I thought all have been crap so far (yes, Ireland incl.), except Estonia. I thought it was catchy, lively, had a good backing to it and I'll be voting for it later.

They weren't bad, it seems the rest or Europe doesn't despise us now.
But was it jsut me or did that song totally sound like Written in the Stars by Tinie Tempah?

They're in Eurasia, which means they're on the boundary, if they were socially and economically stable enough they would be considered as candidates for the European Union and are currently in the Council of Europe. It's similar to arguing whether or not Turkey or Russia are in Europe, both are potential candidates [for the European Union].

As far as I know the boundary between Europe and Asia is pretty much just cultural/political anyway. I firmly believe that both Turkey and Russia are part of Europe, especially Russia, considering 80% of it's population lives there.
I draw the line at Azerbaijan, though.

As you say, Political, if things keep going as they are the expansion of the EU may include Azerbaijan at some point, although the EU may limit their expansion after acquiring Iceland and Turkey. Also if you believe that Russia is part of Europe then since Azerbaijan has only had independence from the USSR for roughly ten years then surely that would make them as much a part of Europe as roughly ten years ago they would have classed a Russian through sovereign devolution.

I missed it because I was out last night :( but I'll watch it on BBC iPlayer later. I have really, really high expectations for Finland this year, since they're always awesome.

So Nigeria was part of Europe until ten years after they gained independence? They didn't gain independence from Russia, either, they gained it from the Soviet Union and were technically seperate political entities (Russian SSR and Azerbaijani SSR, respectively).
But anyway, this is getting off-topic...
I was sad to see Norway didn't make it through, definitely the catchiest song in the contest. Spain was just irritating.

How Azerbaijan won? We bribed the officials with money. Yes sire, green dollars, or blue Euros now since we are in Europe. Why else do you think Azerbaijan waved the Turkish flag when they found out they won the contest?

I have only seen bits from the first semifinal, and from what I saw, my favourites were Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, San Marino and Serbia.
Azerbaijan was completely bland, I didn't like it...

I totally agree with this. I actually can't remember any of their song whatsoever. People kept on voting for Bosnia and Herzegovina too, which really surprised me.

I liked one of the eastern European countries, I think it was Bulgaria, but their singer was from County Durham, in England, which is more or less where I live (border between counties). Anyone else lol at the number of times they reminded you not to vote for your country. I was tempted just to see what would happen!
