Religion
Devotion rests layers of comfort over grand arches
and the strength of a preserved mankind.
But should the comfort fall too close to the fire,
Passion must ignite, and kill.
Money tempted you with song,
Your gods lured you with morality,
Lights mesmerised your mind,
Being human justified this fatality.
We fight tooth and nail,
So that values might prevail.
But where are your values,
When a human head lies crushed in your arms,
And blood dries under war-torn nails?
A flammable human presence,
Lost in deistic benevolence.
