Can they fly? Flying cars-yes/ Planes-yes.
Can they haul you and your crap? Flying cars-yes/ Planes-yes.
Do they look like a car? Flying cars-yes/ Planes-no.
Do they actually exist? Flying cars-no/ Planes-yes.

What are your opinions of "flying cars"?
I don't think we need them.

If we'd have flying cars, there wouldn't be a traffic order since people can go ANYWHERE, while cars are restricted with roads and gravity.

And there is the pollution...

Yes, there are flying cars. Most of them are even functional concept flying cars.

And there is the pollution...Nope, there will be a specific line of traffic for flying cars too. If you haven't watched Sci-fi films and cartoon, you will notice flying cars move in a specific directions like a road, and not in a random fashion. Even Engineers wants a systematic flight direction.

If you fly in a random one, then there will be no cars, because all of them will come crashing to one another.

But then what's the point of them flying if they have to stick to a specific route? This is why I don't think they'll evey be commonplace.

No point in using those "Planes With Tires". That "flying car" can't be even driven on the roads. I mean... you need larger roads to drive this vehicle.
And where and how would you park this between other cars? The wings make it too fat.

But then what's the point of them flying if they have to stick to a specific route? This is why I don't think they'll evey be commonplace.

Exactly.

They do move in specific directions, but there is nothing preventing them from getting out of the traffic line and move randomly since there are no boundaries of the path where they are going on.

It takes a lot more energy to have something fly through the air than to roll on the ground.
Not to mention, look at how many idiots are on the road that don't know how to drive. What do you think would happen if those idiots were in the air?

Also,

1. Flying cars require a much higher skill set then driving on roads.

2. For short trips flying cars are very inefficient.

3. In general, things that have two purposes generally never work very well for either. Amphibious cars don't work very well as a car or as a boat.

4. Flying cars are, and will likely always be, very expensive.

What would it take to make a flying car viable:

1. You would have to have a system of roads in the sky to reduce collisions.

2. There would have to be a system so that if the flying car ran out of fuel it wouldn't just crash.

3. There would have to be a way to protect buildings from crashing flying cars. Sometimes on-road vehicles crash into houses. Think about how more frequent that would be if there was a regular amount of traffic going over your house.

Well,I hope they aren't for the public yet  a lot of people all ready have a hard time driving a car XD!I don't think they'll be for everyday people in our lifetime and hopefully(if we haven't killed ourselves yet lol)they'll have eco friendly fuel for our flying cars.I doubt they'll get big as cars did in our life times.

Most people which have a hard time driving are either drunk, old or complete retards.

Big-flying-cars would use a huge ammount of fuel.
I don't really think we will have a successful eco friendly fuel soon.
I doubt that we will even replace cars with flying cars. Waste of money and time.

Of course not. You wouldn't spend 50 years and over $400 billion building a national Interstate highway system only to switch to flying cars.

Of course, with this country's political parties, I can see that happening.

Most people which have a hard time driving are either drunk, old or complete retards. So, I am having a hard time driving, so this makes me either a drunk, old or a complete retard( one of the three), right?

Makes complete sense.

An innovation would likely happen sooner than we thought it would. It wouldn't be likely that the cars of the future would be using conventional fuel. Think outside the box. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_nucleon)

I can't drive. It's illegal. You're right, I would have a hard time driving, especially when the cops are rolling in their mobiles. Infants can't drive too, can they?

Well, I was talking about people which have "driving licenses". :P

We still have this :
"They do move in specific directions, but there is nothing preventing them from getting out of the traffic line and move randomly since there are no boundaries of the path where they are going on. "

there would be a new offense. Instead of a DUI you would get a FUI (Flying under Influence) and the the fine for this charge would be death. There would always be people who would fly drunk if we had flying cars.

All the above live where I am  and I didn't know the retarded population went up so much

1.I was meaning they'll be as used as much as cars, and as in very small planes that can drive rather good on a highway.AS in it's wings are fold-able.

I doubt that we will even replace cars with flying cars. Waste of money and time.
2.That was my point.

oh and they have a bunch of eco friendly fuels out,it's just the greedy as oil giants don't want us to replace oil with them.
