For about the past week, I have been sick. About half an hour ago, I noticed that the gum line between my crooked front bottom teeth is growing. Do I have an oral problem...? Should I get it checked out? I haven't seen a dentist in about a year or so.

Have you been brushing your teeth like normally?

Dosent sound like too much of a problem, but I cant say for sure without seeing them in person. If they get too painful, or you want piece of mind - Go and see your dentist. You are probs due for a check up anyway :)

Brush your gums with your toothbrush, like you would brush your teeth. Your gums are inflamed, which means you're on your way to gingivitus if you aren't careful.

I'm going to go with what Perseus said, but on another note, on my bottom set of teeth, the left half is slightly dented forward, so it could be that the gums are trying to fill in that extra space.

Ehhh, I am not quit so sure about that, I would still suggest going and paying a visit to your dentist, just to be on the safe side.

My parents still haven't found one.

I know that if you brush too forcefully along the gums you can push them back. This is to be avoided because you can expose the teeths' roots, making them sensitive to heat/cold/irritants and making the area vulnerable to penetration by food (and as a result, infection). So I think a visit to the dentist is a good idea, just to identify the problem and get advice. :)
