Scared my self a little tonight...

sat in the bathroom because i couldnt get any piece i started to cut my wrist got to the third one and i noticed the other two were bleeding more than usual then after the third i noticed there was a lot more blood than usual. normally it just dries up then i sort it out and go about my business but it didnt. i put pressure on it for lots of 30 seconds before it calmed down and i got it under control. but i pretty much made a mess. my arm doesnt look that bad but theres a little cut thats "talking" (if you know what i mean) and thats what was causing it.

iv read the sticky on this thread but it isnt clear to me the stage where you should think right i may need to go to hospital

ive tied a little bandage tight around it and it seems to have stopped now. but i was just wondering when i should

When you cut deep enough that you can see the yellow layer of fat. That's when it needs stitches. That, or if it's just not stopping.

I find cuts always worse when you self-harm after a particularly bad day, argument etc
you could try ringing a friend to distract yourself? I say to myself, I'm going to ring a friend, if I still feel bad I can do it later. Or I'll come on here and say oh I'll do it after this. It really helps.


If you know youre in a terrible mood, make sure your phones nearby always, remember to clean out the wound and use anti-septic cream before you bandage. oh! just remembered..use bio-oil religiously if you dont want noticeable scars for summer.

I'm glad that it's ok now. I've had similar scares where i've cut my wrist and it won't stop bleeding. I avoid that area now maybe it's sometig you could think about.
I'm not telling you to stop, nor in any way am i telling you to continue i'm just asking if maybe you'll consider doing it in areas a little safer?

i had to avoid my wrist for months because of work and it killed me. i don't know what it is about it its just better for me. over the years iv used my legs my tummy my feet and my upper arm. but because i have a boyfriend the only place i can do it now is my feet and my wrist. i am usually a lot more careful than this but it was an exception

I don't think so just one for wounds, and it doesn't necessarily have to be cream it can be wipes or i have a spray. Just whatever is easiest.
