PS3 burnt out...

my little brothers a moron and left our PS3 on for two long and it fried it. now it wont turn on and whenever you try and do anything the red light just flashes and goes off. i took it to a proper man in chips and asked him to fix it and he said they dont do it any more because they last for a couple of months and break again. i can get it fixed on the sly for a cople of quid but i dont know whether its worth trading it in or trying to fix it

anyone got any ideas?

How old is it? If its under warranty, Sony will probably fix it for free. It has a one year warranty. If it isn't under warranty, you can still send it to Sony to be fixed, but it will cost you. I know here in America its roughly $150 to have it fixed, but I don't know what it is in England.

You wont be able to trade it in as in GAME they'll check to see if the system works first, if it's not under warranty it'll probably just be best to get a new one.

How have you went through 3? What environment are you keeping the systems in? The PS3 should not burn out from just being left on unless you have it in an area with poor ventilation.

Yea haven't tried it in a while but that's pretty much what happened.



And I have a 50 inch telly and its on a stand for that size. And my mum cleans it weekly so it aint dusty. But my wii and my xbox are in the same area.
The first one broke because of a memory problem I think the second was a batch problem. And the third as you know over heated
