when i'm on my period i get horrible cramps, like where i can't do anything. i throw up and i can't eat anything but a few crackers. but its only for like the first day.
the cramps are kinda on and off the whole week though. if i maybe sneeze and tense up it hurts ten times worse.
does this happen to anyone else?
and is there anyway i can make the cramps less painful? i mean tylenol helps. but when it wheres of the pain hits all at once.
thank you for taking the time to read this.
and if it needs to be moved please do. :)

If your cramps are serious enough that you throw up, then you should see a doctor about it. I know very few people that don't get cramps and very few people who get cramps this bad, so I'd say you're in the minority for your pain.
As for common methods, heat (e.g. hot water bottle) can help, exercise (probably difficult considering how sick you get), doing other things to take your mind off the pain, the usual. However considering the severity you've described, I'd consider take further steps to help relieve the pain.

I get terrible cramps also and their horrible on the first day and then on and off throughout the time I have my period.. Birth Control helps with it cuz as soon as I got on Birth Control it brought my cramping down a lot. I don't know if your on Birth Control or not but maybe try that.. I get sick too, I don't throw up but I do get sick also but I would say try that or try some "period pills" like pamprin, its great for cramps :D

I used to get absolutely HORRIFIC cramps until about a few months ago. They were completely debilitating, and I felt absolutely helpless. I honestly don't know what happened to them. It was always usually on the first or second day.
I really wish I would have seen a doctor for it, but my mom never took me. "Too busy," I guess >.< I'm afraid that they're not over with, though. I never threw up from mine, though.

It isn't normal for cramps to be overwhelmingly painful, especially if you can't eat or do anything.
The best recommendation is to talk to your doctor, but in the meantime you can apply a heat source to the painful area to help it.
Also, you may want to try stretching. :)
