Hey I'm new here :)
I have been a self harmer for years now. I just wondered if anyone else here has a job and cuts, if so how do you hide it?
I'm scared of people finding out especially because I work in health care. :(.
Thanks in advance.

Well it depends what your uniform is.
I would normally cover mine with sleeves, bracelets, makeup or anything of that nature.
I think it depends how bad your cuts are, i think the biggest thing is you need to be confident. Because nine times out of ten if your confident and dont keep glancing at your wrist/arm etc.. then nobody will even notice :)

I agree with this, I cut on my leg so no one notices, so try and cut (if you really have to) somewhere where people won't notice :)

I don't work but make up, armwarmers, bracelets, huge watches, big bulcky bracelets are in and are at Macy's or manly ones at Hot Topic! So get some! :D Say you sprained your wrist and get a thing you use to hold your wrist at Rite Aid. Draw on yourself. Get tatoos on your arm to cover them and then try to hide the tatoo, and people will think your hiding a tatoo. If its on your legs wear long socks.

I work in health care too. I'm a CNA. I usually wear long sleeves. Or sometimes, my patients homes are too hot that I have to wear short sleeves. Especially when I need to bathe or what not. My patients don't say anything, I just get the job done and that's it. When I work in the office, I always wear long sleeves though. Bracelets help too. I've never found make up to help. Probably because I can't find the right to match my skin tone. I'm tan. Not sure what excatly you do in health care, but that's what I do. Good luck!

I work at a Subway and wear short sleeves polo-shirts and T-Shirts. I didn't cut my arms for the first few months of working there because I was afraid people would notice. But when I did start, I realized the only things my Co-Workers noticed were the SCARS (Since i don't cover those). I use make-up on the cuts and scars when it's bad and spray Extra Strength hair spray over it so it won't wipe off when I do dishes. During the winter, if my arm is covered, I'll wear a long sleeve shirt under the uniform.

Obviously try wearing long sleeves, or bracelets. But if I have to wear a t-shirt I tend to fold my arms or keep them close to my side so the scars can't be seen, and it works.

Umm I don't want to sound mean or anything, and I'm just trying to help you, but by far the best way of hiding cuts is not to cut yourself. Just think about the reasons you cut yourself. Do you think no one loves you? I'm absolutely positive there are many people who love you. Do you think you're ugly? Because I'm sure you aren't. if you ever want to talk, please PM me, I would love to chat with you
