Hi, I just have a quick suggestion.

I suggest that when somebody gives us reputation points, that we should be notified.

Often I get rep weeks old that I just see.

Notifications are annoying and common enough. All it takes is one non-urgent click to your User CP.

You could always disable the notifications if you don't like them.

I didn't ask for any help, or even inferred I had a problem... but regardless, I enjoy the notification feature for private and visitor messages. I'm not sure whether doing what the OP suggested is even within the functionality of vBulletin anyway.

Jon: I think there is some sort of mod for it. I remember another forum (vBulletin) I was a member of, I got notifications, at least in the UCP, for when I got rep...

That's glorifying rep 1000000000000x more than it needs to be. It's nice to have surprises, so why not work it into your busy forum routine to check it every so often? I don't think it would be necessary to have the notification for the rep.

How is it glorifying Rep? Also, I've both given and been give uplifting messages via rep, particularly in cases where replying in thread is inappropriate, such as the send a message thread or the dirty little secrets thread.

Or how about a nice big red block to let you how nasty your post was? Reputation is not that pivotal or that important to this site to have notifications.

Reputation isn't important and by having notifications, you will be putting it on the pedestal by showing people every time they get repped. I think that's very useless.

I would love this but I dont think it would work. Its really not that hard to check your user cp now and then personally I think it's more of a surprise that way if you check your user cp and see that you got rep its like oh cool I got rep instead of being notified you are surprised by it.

Guys seriously. It's not needed. It takes roughly 2 second to click on User CP and there your rep is organized in a nice, ordelry fashion.

If people remember to check their user CPs. It's easy to forget to.

I didn't know it was a big deal to people to check their rep all the time to see if they had new stuff. If they forget to, well then it's their fault that they can't see their newest rep.

But why not make it easier for people to see it?Half the noobs don't even know it's there. This would bring their attention to it.

No, but we fully want to incorporate noobs into this site, make it as easy for them as we can, and this'll help.

Thanks. It's not that big of a deal. It's not needed. I think the point has been made.

But if it's really THAT "important" to them, I think that they'll be able to remember.

Okay, okay. I get it. VT doesn't want anything new. All suggestions in this forum are shot down.

Might as well just delete the suggestions forum. VT's just good enough.

That's not true at all.

Suggestions are accepted. I've seen countless accepted during my membership. Bad and pointless ideas are shot down for being bad or pointless. Not every suggestion is going to get accepted, deal with it.
