i know this girl through a friend, we have talked on Facebook only once.. were both 14, she is the most stunning girl i have ever met, i want to get to know her better, but i don't want to make it akward.. where do i go from here?

Ask her if she is free to hang out with you. Ask her about her hobies (and then probably lie to her that you have the same hobies as her- just an example to get her to like you faster, hah)
Ask her what music she likes... etc.
Just get to know her better and mainly hang out with her.

Wait... so you met the girl you want to go out with through another girl which you were close to going out with?

Try to ask your friend to make a meeting which will involve you,your friend and the girl you want to go out with. Just give it a try and see how it will work out.
