They have one of these in a city near by me but I've never had the guts to actually show up when it's being held. I think you are very brave to both know and recognize when you feel at home and comfortable with your surroundings and wish you the best in making new friends there at future Pride days. I hope to some day do the same thing, maybe this summer.

Aww it's really awesome to hear first time experiences for people going to pride fests because it feels like yesterday when I went to my first pride fest. They're very fun (except for the music) and you meet so many cool people along with learn more about the community. Like this year I've gone to two of them and hopefully this fall I'll go to the other two. I went to two different counties, both very different in their own way but both very enjoyable. Though remember that you don't have to do anything that you don't want to. Just go thereto have fun and enjoy yourself. That's what it's all about is expression. And I am so happy you got that experience.
