Well....my mom is going to start the adoption process soon. She wants another special needs child. There's a little boy she wants that I believe would be two once we adopt him (if we do). I just wanted to know if anyone else has an adopted sibling and what it's like. I'm kinda nervous that having a new child in the house would sorta be like the "new puppy" and replace my brother and I. I'm super excited though, and I think it's great that my parents have decided to share their love with another child. I'm just not sure how much things will change.

I am an adopted sibling if its any help. I don't remember how i came to be there though, i don't remember the process i was extremely young when my parents took me in. To be honest the child is most likely going to be treated as though it is biologically part of the family, but that doesn't mean they're going to love you guys any different or any less. Its a difficult thing to get used to, but eventually you'll get used to it. At first he may receive a bit of extra attention but thats only to help him fit in, you've just got to remember its as difficult for him as it is for you, maybe even more so. If you need to talk about it i'm here :)
