Figure out how many calories you need, this might help you(http://caloriecount.about.com/cc/calories-goal.php) since to gain weight its all about putting more in then your using. Lifting you should go on a beginner program for instance Start Strength(http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ:The_Program#Three_Flavors_of_Starting_Strength).

To gain weight you must consume foods with high caloric value. Try to increase the amount of food consumed daily, but remember that it is extremely important to avoid fats and sugars. Although high-fat foods contain the most calories, it is appropriate that they be consumed in a temperate. Emphasis should be on foods that contain a diversified nutritional profile, in addition to fat, and carbohydrates, protein, vitamins and minerals.

Try and do some weight training but start off on a sensible weight. Also try protein shakes

This does not mean eating anything and everything within reach! It means you need to include in your weight gain diet, foods that will help you gain lean mass, not bad fats. 6 meals a day is a good start. Eat foods with high protein content such as beans, pulses and peas, and foods with high starch content such as potatoes, rice and tapioca.

You're not skinny. You're in fact almost the "ideal" weight for your height. Just a tiny bit over actually.

The first principle is your energy level. His body has limited energy level to carry out a different workout first thing you have to develop your energy level. For each workout sugar level in blood drops to 30 minutes. So you have to raise your energy level first. If you want to increase muscle mass and you have to overload your system. Practice the principle of overload will force your muscles to develop in size and strength. The third principle is the frequency of training. Normally, the consistency in all the work it takes to succeed. But in the case of building muscle mass, is very important.
