I've been waiting for McDonald's to call for about 2 weeks now. Everytime I call them, they tell me that they'd call me the next day. So I haven't called them in a bit now. When should I cal them?

Do you know of any other places that hire 14 year olds? Besides babysitting, mowing lawns, cleaning houses, etc.

I dont know where you live, but over here anywhere you apply for, you have to be 14 and 9 months before you can get a job. Try a subway?

Tbh I'd apply to as many places as you can, don't limit yourself. Give your CV/letters of reference to anywhere you think you'd be suited to. Supermarket, mcdonalds, subway, paper routes, anything.

Where I live, there's a lot of tourism...so maybe I'll have a better chance of getting hired somewhere in the Summer.

They'll take them out even if I'm not an adult?

Im not sure whether they do in the US, but in Australia, they take it oit if you earn over AU$6000 per year. if you dont earn that much, they take it out and give it back to you at the end of the year

Kaya

Why would they take it out if they're just going to give it back? Lol?

In answer to your first question, call McDonald's, and tell them that you would like to know if you have the job or not now, so you can continue looking if you didn't get it. The stringing you along is really annoying, and I've been told they're famous for that actually. Just ask them straight up.

And as for taxes, at least in NY, there are a couple of different taxes that got taken out. At my last job, I was exempt from one type because I wasn't going to make over the limit. However, you'll probably get them all taken out, which is unfortunate. Then, you file for them, and most of the time you will get money back in the winter.

The taxation system is different from country to country, state to state. And you never have any control over it
