I need some help with this.

whenever I do any heavy physical activity I start overheating
today I passed out b/c of it.

I think I'm drinking enough, but idk what's enough exactly so.…
it'll happen in the winter too, but it's getting hot and I'm getting worse. I need to be able to keep doing my karate but anymore idk if I can.
this was never a problem when i was on swimteam -_-

might ad more later , going home

This happens to me quite often, I'm rarely cold and sometimes (Though rarely) I get so warm my parents are unable to wake me up normally. I'd recommend you see a doctor because you really need to get that looked into. Atm try to keep as cool as possible when you're doing these things. When you start to get warm go to a cool area, make sure you have a cold drink and don't wear too many layers of clothing.

Actually, i have both problems
I overheat in the summer, but I'm constantly cold in the winter.

Last checkup was..last week I think. Basically everything was normal just waiting for the blood test (from friday, might be a week?)

I wear minimal clothing when i can :P problem is with martial arts, i need to wear the gear when we fight, sooo.. Im like covered in plastic while in the highest activity. Yeahhh. This doesn't work well, but I need to keep with learning to defend myself.

how much water do i actually need?

You need to consume about 8 glasses of water a day, 12 ounce glasses. Ways to make sure you are hydrated is look at the color of your urine, the clearer the better. A way to check if you are hydrated is to pinch the skin on the back of your hand, if it snaps back then you're good if it doesn't then you need more water.

Agreed with Levi - Id say take it easy, and just let a Doc know, nothing can come bad from it - and they are their to help :)

Levi's also spot on with the hydration issue - also sip water not guzzle it, and if you do feel thirsty, then you are already slightly dehydrated :)

Hit me up if you need anything, and hope it is all thumbs up.

Alrighty.

I'm still having this problem.

Being hydrated enough is having no effect.

I'm also sweating, excessively. This is a new thing from last year, never have sweated through shirts before.
[before anyone blames puberty, shouldn't this have hit already considering I'm 17 in a month?]

Was on antibiotics for a week (zpack, 5 day antibiotic), and that's helped a *little* b/c I had a chest infection, but I still can't do anything much more than walking without overheating and being close to passing out.

Could my weight possibly be an effect here. I'm about 5'9 and 180(read: 185 +3/-5 depending on time of day & clothing) (BMI 26.6, and i have a slight frame), and have been around that for about a year. Haven't gained, but is it possible my weight is effecting me now?

[Final edit:P I'm the OP and a Gmod, I can bump my own damn thread lol]

Type 1 doesn't come with being a bit chunky, and there is no way i could have type 2

You should check with your doctor if hydrating does not help. They will probably prescribe you some medication. I hope you don't live where I live (florida), because it's 100 degrees here right now...

Thank god not, i live in PA (where we actually see snow), and it's been in the high 80sOk good. I would recommend NOT coming here at all during any time of the year because it is almost ALWAYS hot here (or atleast until you get this figured out)

Type 1= Agreed
can be anyone...majority are dx'd ages 10 - 14

Type 2= more & more young teens are being dx'd than ever b4. Sadly it is mainly from diet.

I have type 1 since 10 year old & I cannot understand the reluctance to have a simply test. It may even indicate you are close to being one if you don't make lifestyle choices.

I sincerely wish you are free of this insiduous health problem.
