Yup, I got a concussion today. Here's the story.

Gym class. We were playing some weird game similar to kickball. I was in the field (even though it's inside, but you get the point). They kick the ball and it's in front of me. I can't get to it fast enough to I slide (this is laminate wood flooring, heavily waxed). I land awkwardly on my back, and my head slams into the floor.

It hurt a fucking lot. I didn't pass out and I got right up. It was kinda funny cause it was just a loud THUMP and everyone heard it. Like I said I stood up right away so I'm obviously somewhat OK. I walked it off and got back into the game. No tears, just a ton of pain.

So far, the only symptoms are headache and slight dizziness. The headache is taken care of by acetaminophen, but I'm still a little dizzy. I read online that it's possible to fall into a coma when I fall asleep. Should I be worried about it? No one in my house will be able to check on me every few hours to see if I'm OK. What should I do? BTW this happened at about 1:30 PM EDT.

Ask your parents to take you to the doctor's as a precaution. The school could have filed an accident report. Hopefully you learned not to slide on wooden floors. I slipped on the ice during the winter as I walked into school, and an accident report was filed, although I didn't land directly on my head on the rug, and the principal wanted me to call home for a ride to urgent care.

Not enough money right now for the doctor. Now define accident report. I've never heard about anything like that at my school. I didn't exactly TRY to slide but it was more of a slip and I tried to slide to save myself. Kinda failed.

A school accident report basically clears the school that filed one of any responsibility for a student's injury that occurred on school grounds.

Well it was all my fault I fell. The only people that know are the classmates and the teacher. No one made a big deal so I don't even thing the school board knows.

My advice - See a Doc for a cheak up.

Why? Its better to be safe then sorry, and it can help rule out anything that may have occured as a result of it. Plus its always good to have a general cheak up. Tell him that you hit your head, and as a result you are dizzy ect. He may wave it off, he may do some tests - hes there to help YOU and make sure YOU are ok.

Just be safe then sorry, things can turn up days later after an incident.

Hope Ive helped you in someway - If you need anything, let us know.
