Yup, I got a concussion today. Here's the story.
Gym class. We were playing some weird game similar to kickball. I was in the field (even though it's inside, but you get the point). They kick the ball and it's in front of me. I can't get to it fast enough to I slide (this is laminate wood flooring, heavily waxed). I land awkwardly on my back, and my head slams into the floor.
It hurt a fucking lot. I didn't pass out and I got right up. It was kinda funny cause it was just a loud THUMP and everyone heard it. Like I said I stood up right away so I'm obviously somewhat OK. I walked it off and got back into the game. No tears, just a ton of pain.
So far, the only symptoms are headache and slight dizziness. The headache is taken care of by acetaminophen, but I'm still a little dizzy. I read online that it's possible to fall into a coma when I fall asleep. Should I be worried about it? No one in my house will be able to check on me every few hours to see if I'm OK. What should I do? BTW this happened at about 1:30 PM EDT.
