I'm 16, almost 17 and don't get me wrong, my voice is deep. But I have never had an issue with it cracking when I was younger (guess I'm lucky :) ). So I'm just wondering, has this ever happened to any of you.

Well, my voice did crack pretty bad for about a year, but other than that, it's just been an occasional crack here or there, nothin very bad. I don't really know anyone whose voice didn't crack at least some at some point.

That's weird. Sometimes it cracks when I try and sing a high note.

Yeah, that happens to me sometimes to. Leave it to the one song I have a solo in in choir to have a high note in it...

Guys voices have two ranges, the lower one, usually called chest voice and the upper one, usually called head voice (though sometimes called falsetto but that term is best avoided as it means different things to different people). Between the two is a tricky part called the passagio.
What will have happened in your case is that as your voice has deepened the passagio will have moved down as well so a song that was completely within your chest voice before it changed will now be party in chest voice (the lower notes) and partly in head voice (the higher notes).
There are two ways out of this situation. One is to change the key of the song so it is wholly in chest voice again, the other is to practice negotiating the passagio by mixing so the transition from chest to head voice is less obvious. A teacher may be useful for this.
So, going back to the original question someone is less likely to have problems with cracks and squeaks if:
1. They have practised negotiating the passagio prior to the voice starting to change.
2. They do not use pitches outside of chest voice.

I am pretty sure my voice has been fully matured for at least 3 years now, but it still cracks every once in a while.
