I haven't cut in about 7 months now, but in the past few weeks I have felt the need to cut BAD. Even today I was grinding my teeth thinking about it to the point where I couldn't concentrate at all in class. Another weird thing is even though i haven't cut yet my left arm seems to be pulsing and burning as if i have cut? I don't even know what's going on but if any of you do it would be extremely helpful for some information or advice on what to do. :(
btw i have been having some problems such as family issue's and friends deaths, but this just seems weird.

The first year I stopped cutting was hell for me, I know what you are going through, I also have had many of my friends pass away due to accidents on the High Way. I channeled my wants of cutting into music, playing piano or violin. I think that that is why I am soo good at music because I played soo much during that year. Lumosity is right, it does get easier and I know this because that one year was four years ago, I have not cut in five years.
You are not alone and YOU CAN DO THIS, we are all here to help. PM or VM if you need anything.

Thanks for the help, music is probably a good idea, i'll probably try writing poetry again as well. I'll see if cutting paper idea works hopefully it does. And congratulations to you Robert for being 5 years SH free.
Iam.

7 months is amazing, you go through rough patches like this a lot when you're quitting, but in reality it's no worse than getting past that day one, like everyone said keep yourself distracted and so on, they do pass, so the most important thing is to remember to get through them, not give up :)

i congradulate all who can go even one day without cutting or other self harm. Ive been clean of it for a while and when i was younger i lost a brother a mother and a few friends. its hard. and abuse from friends i trusted didnt help but what did was looking at what i was really doing to my body. causing bone scars in my shins....leaving scars on my legs. the best way to cope with loss, is to understand it and why it hurts so much. When people die, they dont feel pain anymore. they feel relief and when they anniversary comes i give them the mourn but i also celebrate the great things they did alive. i send balloons up with a note on the anniverary of my mom or brothers death. every other day of the year i mourn their memory. it takes a long time to move on. took me 7 years.
