i don't know how to deal with stress... this is all i know to do... how can i stop if its all i know...

You've got to learn something else. Replace self-harm with a better habit. Anything that will let you cool down. Taking walks is a good one. If you feel like self-harming, take a walk. The exercise is not only good for you, but will help clear your mind, and it also releases endorphins, which are also released when you feel pain, including cutting. That's what I usually suggest. Otherwise, anything that will make you feel better. Punching a pillow, playing an instrument.

Basically what Rith said. I sometimes go for walks or runs too. It also means that you physically can't cut. Another thing you can do is use an elastic band to snap against your wrist. This way you get the pain of self harming but are not doing as much damage.
