Nailed the Interview today!

So today I interviewed for the Assistant Kennel Manager position at my local shelter. 15 min after the interview they called and offered me the position. YAY! Or so I thought. Previously I managed a dog kennel for a non profit no kill shelter and loved it! This shelter is unfortunantly a kill shelter. On average they have a 97% euthanasia rate for both cats and dogs and honestly I just dont know if I can handle that! Not to sound like a pussy or anything but when I have to decide who goes to make room I might cry! But I need this job to pay for my outrageous car insurance for 3 cars! So its either I take this job or I sell one of my cars :-( What do you guys think I should do?

Take the job... It sucks that its a kill shelter. I'm a big animal lover. But you need the money and its a job...

Take the job, it's money. We can't always pick what we like, and it really sucks it's a kill shelter. I really couldn't do that.

Yeah I wish that were possible. But population control must be done. Honestly I do believe that Euthanasia is better for these animals then having them cold hungry and scared on the streets. Still though I never imagined I would be the one to do it. My first day is tomorrow wish me luck!

Ok So I just got back from training and I liked everything except for the fact that they want to get me certified for euthanasia and I honestly idk if I can kill animals all day... I told them I didnt want to do that so we will see what happens.

Wow, hm. But theres plenty of other stuff you can do right?

The sad thing is that was probably their plan, for you to do the euthanasia. You don't really have much of a choice in the matter unless someone wants to do that job. :(

Congrats on the job, but yeah that sucks. Especially when you are being forced into something you don't want to do. Good luck man.
