1. Is it bad to charge when the battery/gadget has not yet fully depleted?

2. Is it bad to not finish charging the battery/gadget?

3. Are there any possible ways to permanently damage a battery?

I'm talking about iPods, camera batteries and cellphones. If you could answer any or all of these questions, it would really be helpful. :)

1. It depends on what you mean. Charging something at around 10% is perfectly fine, but leaving it plugged in while using it at full power for a long time is a bad idea.
2. No, it's perfectly fine
3. Water, Fire, leaving it plugged in all the time.

Its bad to leave a phone on the charged all night. I have killed many a battery by doing that.

Newer batteries are better and some even have a trickle charge that kicks in when full, but I agree unplug when fully charged if you can.
