Hi guys.

So, I have a pretty big issue I'm worrying about.
You know when you have a physical at the doctors.
Don't you find it awkward when he presses on your breast to feel for abnormalities?
I was there last week, I have a male doctor (honestly I've been to both male and female, nd it doesn't make a difference).
I had to remove my gown waist up, he "inspected my breasts" while i sat up, I had to put my arms in the air, then on my waist and he just looked at it.
Then I had to lie down without my gown on, and he kept on pressing on my breast. He was poking and prodding and it was soo awkward.
He said my lymph nodes were a little swollen, so he had to repeat the exam.
I was topless for almost 15 minutes, and he kept on touching my chest.
He also made me perform a breast self exam and he made me squeeze my nipple to see if any discharge came out.
I was so embarassed.
Then I had to hold his hand, while he felt my breast again in different areas, and then i had to put my arms on his shoulder, so that he could feel under my armpits.
Has this ever happened to you guys?
I'm 16...

Precisely I was going to ask how old you were. Yes I've had a breast exam is not weird at all, you are just mature enough to go through it.

This sounds awful :/ I've heard of loads of people on VT getting physical exams but I don't actually know anyone that has gotten one. Is it just like a check-up or have you been sick?

I never want to go through that, it'd be too awkward.

yeah it is...doctors gotta check and they also have to teach you how to check yourself...i had a relative die from breast cancer so its nothing to ignore :)

The doctor obviously thought you were mature enough to have a breast exam, so congratulations on that!

I have never ever had one. I have pelvic exams and all that good stuff but I also have a female do it...

Wow was it really necessary to repeat it...that sounds a little sketchy. :/

...15 minutes seems excessive. It takes about a minute per breast with my doctor, underarms included. Were you sick, like someone else had asked?

15 minutes sounds really long. The longest one I ever had was 5. But even being 10 minutes shorter it's still awkward. I don't dread it, or get embarrassed but it's a weird feeling. Gender doesn't make any difference since I've had both male and female doctors do breast exams.

I think he may have done the exam too much.
I have a lump on my breast and i had it checked by my parents instead since they're doctors. And even with them i felt awkwaaard.
It only took like 5 minutes... 15 minutes is a bit too long...
But i guess it was to make sure he didn't miss anything. It's normal to feel awkward.

(its not cancer, just swollen glands caused by menstruation)
