View Full Version : Transgender woman beaten in Baltimore McDonalds

This took place in Baltimore, Maryland in the USA.
Unfortunately this is the McDonalds I went to on my way home from six flags on Thursday without even knowing a single thing about what happened.
http://news.change.org/stories/mcdonalds-employees-beat-that-trans-woman
*WARNING* Very graphic footage here.
EDIT: Video has been taken down on youtube.
You’re working the night shift at McDonald's handing out hamburgers.
A trans woman tries to use the bathroom, and two other McDonalds customers start to beat her up.
What do you do?
If you’re a McDonald’s employee in Baltimore, apparently you cheer the attackers on.
On Monday, April 18, two young women were caught on camera brutally attacking a defenseless trans woman who was simply trying to use the bathroom in a McDonald's outside Baltimore. Hat tip to Bil Browning, who seems to be the first blogger to cover the incident and to buckangel for the tipoff.
The video footage is horrific, but what’s more is that the attack took place in full view of McDonald's employees, indeed it seems the person who filmed the video may have been an employee of the fast food chain. Not only did most of the McDonald’s staff neglect to try and stop the attack, they can be heard on the video cheering on the attackers!
McDonald’s employees encouraging patrons to beat up a trans woman? Call on the company to immediately fire them.
A 14-year-old girl has been charged over her role in the assault, and charges are pending against an 18-year-old accused of beating up the trans woman.
But absolutely nothing has been done about the employees who just stood by while a hate crime was taking place right in front of them!
McDonalds is one of the largest, most powerful corporations on earth. It touts itself as a customer-driven company, whose workers are socially aware, sensitive to diversity and professional in conduct. One would think that such a company would be quick to fire those employees that encouraged the attackers. Yet we are five days after this disgusting assault and McDonald’s has yet to do so.
All McDonald’s has done is issue a statement using nice words to essentially say they are looking into it:
"We are shocked by the video from a Baltimore franchised restaurant showing an assault. This incident is unacceptable, disturbing and troubling. McDonald’s strives to be a safe, welcoming environment for everyone who visits. Nothing is more important to us than the safety of customers and employees in our restaurants. We are working with the franchisee and the local authorities to investigate this matter. We are doing everything possible to make sure the right thing is done."
That’s all they have to say?
Well I’m sorry, folks, but that doesn’t cut it. It’s a no brainer: at any company, if employees were encouraging violence against anyone they would be fired immediately.
Join Adrian Leigh, a Change.org member in Baltimore, in calling on McDonalds to immediately terminate these employees.
Adrian is also asking those who want justice for this trans woman to please call the Violent Crimes Division of Maryland’s State Attorney's Office at 410-887-6610. Tell them these employees should be charged as accessories to a hate crime.

Why is that funny? if I may ask.
The part of the guy? Or the girl having her head kicked in?
I don't see the humor in it at all.

why didnt the tranny use some common sense. Its effing Baltimore. They think they can just walk around without something happening to them? It's not San Francisco. In fact, I think there are very few cities in the US that a tranny wouldnt be harrassed

Bah. Why should someone have to relocate because of their gender/sexual identity? She has just as a right to get a cheeseburger, as the next person. I see your point, but it's ridiculous that there are certain areas where a person will be harassed because for their gender/sexual preference.

I remember reading speculation that she had used the women's washroom and that offended those 2, who thought she was checking them out or something. That could be total bullshit and doesn't justify the attack whatsoever, but it does raise some interesting issues relating to how to accommodate people like her in an environment that retains the tendency for violence and potentially bigotry.

The whole situation was funny... a trans-gender guy gets beaten by two girls, gets videotaped and then published online by a McDonald's employee and a fake seizure, now please tell me what isn't funny about that?

So does this apply to a black guy going to Hazleton, PA? If he goes there he deserves to be beat up?
To those who don't know Hazleton, PA it is considered the "Most racist" city in the United States. If you ever drive through this town most houses are hanging confederate flags and highly support "White Power"

So are you saying all trannies should forcefully move away from "Tranny-Proof Areas"? Maybe in a small reserve in the middle of nowhere to be exposed in extremely squalid conditions and weekly raids and lynches by Marauding Bible-belting mobs?
I am so disappoint, my son.

It's not about the "hate crime" against the trans, its about the situation...
I personally don't hate trans, I don't have anything against them, I just thought it was funny.

Even the situation is not funny. Getting brutally beaten by two girls(one plump), in a restaurant with employees doing nothing but laughing at you and recording the footage of your struggle -- that's not a funny situation to be in no matter what happened.

I guessed you had a messed up sense of humour. How else could you find that funny? You haven't really explained.
As for the event, this is yet another example of mindless bigotry in this world. Something I'm downright disgusted to see still rampant in 2011. Very sad.

Ok, even if you are "trans" and you consider yourself a "pretty woman" you still have a wiener down there and if you expect people to respect your visions and how you feel you should respect other people's space... the guy even being a Trans had no right to enter the lady's washroom, and he might have gotten more than what he deserved, but they asked him to leave and he didn't... if I was a woman I would have felt disrespected by this attitude -- I wouldn't have done what they did to him, but something -- because HE IS AS A MATTER OF FACT A MAN, ok? Ok.
The man should have left the washroom when asked, and if he had done so everything would have been easily avoided -- he wouldn't have found himself "brutally beaten", which he nearly asked to, and he wouldn't have had to do fake a seizure for the sake of his case. I found it funny, you guys might not have, if you don't agree, live with it... nothing you say here will change my way of seeing things... the guy fucking asked for it.
Oh, also, if we're gonna abuse of the rep system just because we don't agree with whatever post we see, I might as well start doing it too... it sounds really fun!

no, not ok. a pre-op transsexual who feels they are a woman should not be forced to use a male washroom, nor is it your right to determine what gender they are, "as a matter of fact." was this the case here? i don't know, but i kind of doubt that this was a guy who just dressed up as a girl to go leer in washrooms, or for fun.
this is just as horrifying as a gay or lesbian being beaten up because some straight person felt they were leering. it's disgusting, and it's disgusting attitudes of semi-approval like yours that allow these things to happen.
the only acceptable "something" to do in that situation would be to leave and tell management that someone in the bathroom is making you uncomfortable. that you imply you'd do something different... yeah, kind of appalling.

He has a wiener, he was born man, until he gets operated HE IS STILL A MAN.
I'm not a hater, nor have anything against him... I just say he pretty much got what he was looking for. As I said, I have nothing against transsexuals, but they have to respect, until their full transformation has been made, other people... this man had no right to get into the lady's washroom, and he could have avoided the whole thing when asked to leave. You guys are missing the point here, they didn't beat him up for homophobia, or however you want to call the hate and fear for transsexuals, he got beaten up because he was a man in a lady's washroom that didn't leave when asked.
The "something" didn't really include violence -- as I stated in my post, he had more than what he deserved, and I wouldn't have done what they did to him.

I saw the video.
Under normal circumstances, she would've caused more issue in the mens room I think. My thoughts on bathrooms for anyone in that iffy place, is go to the one that's least likely to get you hurt. For her, it'ed been the girls.
NO one deserves to be beat for expressing who they are. Surgery is painful, and it takes a long time to get that far that you can (gatekeepers, can suck my balls). Until then, can't expect someone who's living full time as a woman to use the mens room when there are bigots around.
Miguel, would you do the same thing if you saw a feminine looking boy in the mens room? Or - shock - a boy who took a piss in a stall?

What exactly was she looking for?

She has more of a right to use the women's restroom than those girls had to beat her up.
You guys are missing the point here, they didn't beat him up for homophobia, or however you want to call the hate and fear for transsexuals, he got beaten up because he was a man in a lady's washroom that didn't leave when asked.
Right, because beating someone up solves everything.
The "something" didn't really include violence -- as I stated in my post, he had more than what he deserved, and I wouldn't have done what they did to him.
You wouldn't have been in the same restroom anyways. Regardless of what you would have done, she was beaten up for using the bathroom and in this case, there is no excuse for those girls' ridiculously stupid behavior.
Or - shock - a boy who took a piss in a stall?
Urinals are too close together. Yuck.

pe·nis/ˈpēnis/
Noun: The male genital organ of higher vertebrates bla bla bla
Its pointless for me to keep answering the same questions over and over and keep saying the same things -- I made my point, and you might like it or not; it's not like I care how you guys see me.
I found it funny -- it was an avoidable situation. I know who I am, and whoever knows me IRL knows the kind of person I am. My own self is not defined by what I write here or what you guys think about me -- I tried to make my point, but you all kept attacking me because of my views... now is this a forum or not?
Since we're in the "let's look for the definition" vibe...
fo·rum/ˈfôrəm/Noun

Ok, even if you are "trans" and you consider yourself a "pretty woman" you still have a wiener down there and if you expect people to respect your visions and how you feel you should respect other people's space...
So now you're penalising this woman (yes, I said "woman") for being male? You would have minded if it were a 'real biological' woman.
the guy even being a Trans had no right to enter the lady's washroom, and he might have gotten more than what he deserved, but they asked him to leave and he didn't... if I was a woman I would have felt disrespected by this attitude
What if you were in a church witnessing a wedding and the two people to be wedded were both male, would you feel that you were being disrespected then? Honetly, this is bullshit.
-- I wouldn't have done what they did to him, but something -- because HE IS AS A MATTER OF FACT A MAN, ok? Ok.
If she dresses like a woman, acts like a woman, and obviously wants to be regarded as a woman, then she's a fucking woman.
he wouldn't have found himself "brutally beaten", which he nearly asked to.
the guy fucking asked for it.
Wait, did this woman ask for it or not?
nothing you say here will change my way of seeing things...
Close-mindedness is how you (incorrectly) describe this transgender lady's attitude: disrespectful, and a bad attitude.
Oh, also, if we're gonna abuse of the rep system just because we don't agree with whatever post we see, I might as well start doing it too... it sounds really fun!
Funny, I feel like negrepping you too, and I am *this* close to doing it. Even though I haven't, we are allowed to negrep if we disagree with someone's post.
I found it funny -- it was an avoidable situation.
That's right, blame the fucking victim. Lots of situations are avoidable. I guess that black woman who refused to get off the 'white' bus simply on the basis of her skin colour could have avoided arrest, but why the fuck should she have done?
I'll leave you guys to your "OH NO THAT WAS SO HORRIBLE! I AM DISGUSTED!"
Are you not disgusted?
By the way, you still haven't truly explained where humour comes into all this.

Erm. I saw the video. That was similar to my older sister's seizures. The only reason it looked "FAKE" to him, was because she had no one keeping her still so more harm happened to her, plus it lasted for a good minute or two.

If you saw the video, the girls were screaming trannyfag at her. That's why its a hate crime. And "Thats what she was looking for"? I highly doubt she was looking for a trip to the hospital.
Mental gender =/= Physical gender. Please look up the definition of trans. :)

this is disgusting, ach i get it, someones different so lets beat the stuffing out of them and record it and not intervene at all because of this person is all different and not a human at all, theyre subhuman and its our job to put this different person in their rightful place, below us.
ARGH i hate people who commit hate crimes! Just because someone is different it doesnt make them any less human! If anything they deserve respect for being themselves and not following the 'norm' and conforming! Argh! sorry if this was weird.
