I suck at cooking. Like, REALLY suck. I can't even boil water on a stove without freaking out about it (not kidding). Any words of encouragement so I don't assume that I'll get third degree burns from making grilled cheese in a toaster oven?

umm chill out?

seriously, the kitchen can be a dangerous place, but if you treat it with respect and are careful, you can create amazing things inside those 4 walls.

Thank you. I actually tried to make rice, and for the most part, it wasn't burnt (my mum helped me out). So I guess I'm not totally awful?

Throw some ice on yourself and take a breather. Cooking can be hard and stressful at times but all together it can turn out to be an amazing pass-time. If cooking scares you so much then you need to teach yourself the ways of the Recipes. If it scares you THAT MUCH then you need to teach yourself about the kitchen first. Become aquainted with every nook and cranny, every cabnet and drawer, every can opener and ice-machine. Once you know you're way around (better than you do now) then you'll feel more at ease when you're in the kitchen. You should also learn the proper use of everything, making it much easier to cook on a whim without having to plan it out. ALSO planning it out might help a lot...

Thanks for your encouragement :). I'll remember that "planning" stuff next time so I know what I'm doing.

Breathe, remind yourself that your okay, and it won't happen. I'm just like you. I hate with a passion being so closer to a flame. I feel like everytime I'm going to burn my hand off. Just breathe and say you'll be okay.

all you have to do is realise you have nothing to be scared of in the kitchen
