Okay.
I don't have a girlfriend.
I have never had a proper girlfriend in my life.
I haven't had ANY type of girlfriend for 4 years.

Obviously I'm not too experienced in the whole relationships thing.
My problem is that people (specifically; members of the opposite gender) my age are dating or have been dating.
I get the feeling that as they are growing emotionally through dating, I am not and will end up not getting any experience in dating so never getting a date. Ad infinitum.

Anyone else get that feeling?
Suggestions?

Don't worry... you still have time. I live in a small suburbia outside a decent-sized city, so everyone knows everyone. Kids were having their 1st kiss in like 2nd or 3rd grade, but I didn't have mine until I was 11, and even then, it was just a summer romance. I never felt like i was behind the curve, I was just waiting.

So in a way, hats off to you to not joining the crowd and having relationships all over the place. Think of it that way. There's someone out there waiting, so just be patient and live life the way YOU want to live it right now.

It can seem like everyone around you is growing and dating, but different people do things at a different pace. You don't have to start dating just because your friends are. Never start doing something if you don't think you're ready. When that happens, often the relationships don't last, because if you are dragged into it, you don't have that confident connection, and that is not healthy for a relationship.

Wait until you're ready. If your friends ask you why you don't have a girlfriend, tell them you haven't found the one yet, or even that you aren't ready yet. If they really are your friends, they will understand.

Good luck,
