Umm. Is there a free os where I can download to my cellphone, and boot it from the bios. Gladly, I can boot from an external desk.

Err, your english seems a bit confusing/confused today ;). If I understand correctly, you want to install an OS on a blank machine with only a cellphone?

There are a couple of Linux (and BSD) distributions packaged to be installed on/from an USB key - however, they usually require whiping out the content of the key (and if it is your phone itself, that's definitely not possible...). Moreover, most phones are not equiped as USB hosts, which means you cannot use them directly to drive an USB key.

I don't see any decent solution to this - you'd probably have to have access to another computer to transfer the OS installer/live system on an USB key/disk/CD/DVD.

Very well stated :) You will need another computer since you have to transfer the files to an external device and make it a bootable drive.

Sorry, that what happens when you are in a dire situation.

Thanks for the help! Now, if a Mod sees this, please lock it.
