I know we already have a music video thread, but I want to see your favorites - not just random ones you like. Try to explain why you like them too. The limit I'm going to say should be five.

This is what happens when you combine IDM and Black Metal. This video is pretty funny to me just because I always feel like the face paint stuff BM artists do is dorky and adding humor to it just makes it all feel more alive. This video like the song is strange and sort of funny too.

Best rap video ever. Seriously it starts off brutal and just sets the mood for the song and video throughout. Also, perfectly shot and makes it look intense as fuck.

I don't care if you like Marilyn or not - his videos are worth watching. He's very creative with how everything is made and I really do think this is his best. Obviously it's not his most shocking, but the emotional aspect and story in it goes really well with the song. The references in the video are great, especially the El Topo one. I think people look too much at the rumors and lies then decide to judge him without actually understanding Marilyn Manson. He really is a creative guy and I gained a shit load of respect for him after reading his autobiography.

Otep. The only Nu-Metal artist I think I've come crossed to like. Seriously fuck your Paramore and Flyleaf bullshit. This girl is who is really going out there and tackling issues. She's a huge inspiration and pretty much kills every female stereotype in the book. This is her latest video for her upcoming album, which I'm pretty sure is referencing Fight Club the entire time. What makes her different then other female metal artists is that I think she's allot more real than them. I mean if you disagree with me you need to listen to her song Jonestown Tea and tell me you still think you're right. That song could be possibly the most personal song I've ever heard.

Unlike these artists that say when you have social issues it's ok to have them and you should just like yourself for being different, Otep pretty much says 'Fuck everyone that's against you. Keep your voice high and keep your knuckles bloody, or in other words, fight for what you believe, even if it means smashing the fucker in the face.

Personally I like watching young girls beat up muscular men and spit in the face of a man with a Bible, then slam him in the face withe book. I think that's what makes the video so awesome to me.

As one of the comments says, "this video is like home movies form slenderman's family reunion or something". I'm trippin' balls watching this video man. My favorite video. I'm sure there's some secret message behind it all but I just love the strange shit behind it.

Honorable mention would be Warning by Incubus.

Guess I should mention most of the artists I listen to don't have music videos because they can barely afford their roman noodles to live off, so if all these videos turn out to suck to everyone I wouldn't be surprised.

Your turn VT.

The Man That You Fear video is just more evidence, as well as what you said, that he's not the person people think he is. That video was based on the short story "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson, which featured a small town's custom of randomly stoning a citizen, implying how following tradition plagues us. I always get looks when I say I like Marilyn Manson, but Manson is quite the sharp guy with a message he's trying to send that not all of us seem to be getting.

Anyway. Onto my own.

My mention anyway. Not his most shocking as well, but I feel like that's a good thing, as the message is incredibly clear and loud instead of being hidden under Manson's typical choices, offensive religious references, creepy visuals, and sex.

The only thing better than AFP's song-writing, is the music videos that go along with it. They're either stunningly beautiful and emotional, or hilarious and sarcastic. The latter, of course, in this situation. If the song didn't originally create an uproar, the video would have. From the traditional abortion-by-coat hanger to the protesting Christians getting it on near the end. This is pretty much the best way to get over shit like this, you make a sarcastic, care-free song and music video parodying the whole thing. I was trying to choose between this one and one of her most recent, all about female genitals. I went with this one though.

When Chris was originally writing the song, he was thinking of a psychotic, incestuous relationship, and he imagined himself as the girl and the girl as the boy. The icing on the cake, is how believable this is, but that isn't too far-fetched considering Chris and Immi. Overall, the first time I saw this one, I had a sensory overload.

There's something about videos with no apparent plot whatsoever that are quite attractive.

Finally, Nine Inch Nails - Closer. Yeah, go watch it on Youtube, I'm afraid it's most likely too graphic to post here. But this one definitely speaks for itself in why I'm mentioning it.

I don't really watch the music videos much, so I don't really have much to offer. But I find that I always love Sigur Ros' music videos. They're powerful. See for yourself:

Cool animation, mostly about the struggle for oppressed people to express themselves.

There's no doubt I had to post a Tool video. Their videos are always such mind fucks.

Interesting concept...basically shows some of the problems with the modern era like industralization, oil dependence, mass production etc etc. This one is kind of an extra.

Edit: Oh wow I just realized that everyone elses videos are real life and here I come posting a bunch of animated videos...god I'm a loser. :P
And good call on the Sigur Ros embers, I was thinking about posting them. Actually almost every song posted so far is pretty good.

This Is War - Dustin Kensrue.
I thoroughly enjoy acoustic music and his voice sucks me into the song. The video only adds to the sensory and draws you deeper into the lyrics and what have you...

I love this song, Young, and the music video. I love it because Hollywood Undead (the artists) had a thing where you sent in a picture of yourself wearing a mask you made and they made a collage of all the pictures and put them on the wall. Plus you can feel the emotion.
