I don't like this poll...it doesn't separate social and economic leanings. I prefer the "Political Matrix (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=95186)" or whatever.

1) Age: 20
2) Country: United States
3) Your countries form of government: Constitutional Republic
4) Political leaning (right wing, left wing etc.): Middle of the road
5) Political Party you support: Registered with the Independent Party of Oregon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Independent_Party_of_Oregon), not to be confused with the American Independent Party (http://www.aipca.org/). Considering on re-registering as Libertarian though. I believe that political parties are unnecessary umbrella terms to put issues underneath. A political candidate should simply let the public know of their standings on issues and leave it at that. Voting simply for the sake of voting for a party is ignorant. I think that we can take things from both parties to have a successful government. However, when registering, you have to check a party off, so I tend to check of whichever party I agree the most with.
6) Do you support your current government? Why/not?: Yes and no. They do good things I like, and they do things that I don't care for. All governments are like that. the political system will never be perfect.

Obama is not a socialist. He's as corporation-loving and "let's regulate this but not that!" as the Republicans.
What so many of you here fail to realize is that the Democrats and Republicans are the same. They're both right-of-center economically and socially conservative. Neither or them believe in proper capitalism, and both of them engage in activities that take away freedoms from the everyday American. They're both whores to lobbyists and slaves to bullshit like "family values" and whatever other umbrella term appeals to your average voter.
Switching to the Republicans because you don't like Obama is like drinking Pepsi because you don't like Coke. It's a pointless exercise.

While I am in university and the government pays my studies on a disability grant, I will vote left-wing to obtain moar money. When I start working I will vote right-wing to stop others from benefiting of what I did and keep all my monies to myself. This is why political opinions are stupid.
Until there is a party that :
-will lower my working/lower-middle class income taxes
-will raise corporate/upper class income taxes
-will raise my tax returns
-defends us against Internet surveillance and warrantless wiretapping
-raises old age security pensions
-raises governmental scholarships
-makes equalization payments even more lopsided in favor of my province
-supports capital punishment
-takes a hardass line towards immigration
-gets rid of the gun registry
-puts more money in the army
-gets rid of universal health care or drastically reduces its scope
-stops Quebec from whining so much
-promises to disband the Bloc Québécois
-develops infrastructure *cough*
I'll vote for whoever offers the most at the moment. Parliament's up for auction, baby!
Oh, and when we'll stop wasting 72% of our seats on the fucking Bloc Québécois, I'll be proud of my kin. idiots.
